Great that you have both been learning spanish - we will have to practice in Chile. There were some salsa lessons on the ship but I can't seem to get my hips to wiggle! I will look forward to your demonstration! Lots of love to you both.

Hola, Jean! Nosotros hablamos un poco de castellano... Was that right? Great to hear that you had a good time on the cruise. Were you able to practice any ballroom dancing? We are certainly not experts at salsa but we enjoy it. We must do some practice before we get to Chile if we are going to give a demonstration!

Wow! did you really bump into Nuzzle and Scratch of cBeebies fame in Flores? Those silly billy llamas can't be trusted - don't hire them is my advice!

From: Andy & Yasmin

(August 16th, 2009)

Well they didn't tell us that they were Nuzzle and Scratch. I think they said thier names were Nuzelño and Scratchito, they maybe related ..... Glad you liked the birthday photos, the cake was very nice! How is school going? Is it fun? We heard about a certain boyfriend.... :)Shaun and Toby say hello to Lily Daisy Rainbow.

Lovely to see the pictures of Tikal and Palenque- haven't changed since I was there over 10 years ago. Then again they probably haven't changed in over a thousand years! Glad to hear that the paunch was a money belt. Was wondering how you'd managed to put on any weight with all that cycling!! Where are you off to next? Guatemala? Make sure you go to Antigua if you are heading to Guatemala.

Hi... still following your progress avidly etc. I will be in your part of the world soon: Guatemala City from 2 Sept - 6 Sept and Nicaragua, Managua plus field trips, from 6 Sept- 13 Sept. Any remote chance of catching a glimpse of Sean and Toby?

(August 14th, 2009)

We are in the dirty mess drinking tea and eating carrot cake, and we have just read your entire blog. We enjoyed it immensely and are now all considering a sabbatical year in South America. Do you miss us as much as we miss you? Lenny says he thinks it was a bit irresponsible to frighten those reef sharks in their own home. Also have you got any party hats left, they would go lovely with his blond wig? Love xxx

From: Andy & Yasmin

(August 16th, 2009)

Hi Pete, it would be great to meet up! However we will already have passed through Guatemala City in a few days time. We may be in Nicaragua by the beginning of Sept, depends on whether we travel through Honduras or El Salvador we think. We'll keep you posted and I have my mobile here too (+44-7904037176) so easy to be in touch. Glad you are enjoying the blog!

Hi guys, glad you are reading it - all in one go? .... things must be slow onboard. Yes the sharks were very scared of us, but we were fine :) Actually we had lots of party hats, but we've already worn them out! We'll keep our eyes peeled for one for Lisa

Loved the Jungle tower. Ace. "We had used the last of the water 5km previously and were absolutely desperate for a drink" Muppets. Please carry more. x. Loved Walters magical treehouse painting. "Andy rides Toby, and Yasmin Shaun." Andy, you should have a word with this Shaun character and cut short your old habits while you're at it. Have you named your bikes yet? Did I miss something early on about swapping author every paragraph?: I (Yasmin) did my open water PADI course with Frenchie's diving...While Yasmin did her diving course I (Andy) got in some serious hammock time. No of course not - think Im wondering what might influence each thought. Great you're going to Chiapas- sounds amazing. Woody just got married, Zelda next week, Porter soon after. Jesus (traditional ceremony with some magic tricks involving booze and fish). Gil is 40 on Saturday and my sis 30 on Friday. Lord above (age not stated). Got some PhD funding- perhaps you know that. Nottingham Geography- Epidemiology - (Disease analysis) using that gizmo I made lately. C.Am. looks fantastic and it all makes me very happy. Keep it coming. Much love, D. ps HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Cheers Dan for your comments and ramblings, nice to read. Glad that you are reading our blog. We will try to sort out the author for you, to make it easier to understand! Generally we write together anyway. Great that you liked Walters painting, his new website is www.waltercastilloart.com. We have asked him to paint a picture for us so we are excited about that. Great that you got the funding, sounds interesting. Lots of love from us!

Well done for making it to Belize! Did you go swimming at shark ray alley on Ambergris? Don't forget to stand at the non-mosquito side of the bar near the Spit on Caye Caulker!! And can't wait to hear all about the diving. Are you going to dive the blue hole? It is lovely to read your blog. Wish we were there. Although we are off to Corwall. Not quite as exotic......Jen xx

Very pleased with your excellent travel documentary - must do one for my trips to Morrisons. Andy -trust you checked depth of water when you tombstoned into that cenote - unscrewing people from stagmites is a tricky business.
