Playa Uricao

A journal entry from: South America

February 13th - 15th

After a 20 minute boat ride on a "lancha" we arrived at Playa Uricao, a beach only accessible by boat. It was a beautiful beach, but there were quite a lot of people at one end. We decided to walk to the other end and found a quiet camping spot away from the crowd. We had brought with us food and water for two days and wouldn´t have to leave the campsite at all during this time, except to swim and snorkel. The sun was shining and it was going to be the perfect way to spend our last couple of days.

We had a great time relaxing, reading, lying in the hammock and swimming. Great to camp by the beach but sand gets everywhere! In the evening all the other people left back to Choroni and we had the place almost to ourselves (a couple of people were camping at the other end of the beach). We made a camp fire and toasted our tequeñas (deep fried cheese rolls) that Carlos had made for us.

We spent a nice Valentines Day at the camp by the beach with some wine and another fire in the evening. The next day we left by boat back to Choroni. From here we made our way back to Caracas where we are now writing the final blog entries.
