Travel Blog Part 17 - Santorini

A journal entry from: EURO5

Funny, I ran into my neighbour in Piraeus, the port of Athens, while waiting for our ferry to Santorini. Like, my actual neighbour just happened to be in Greece at the exact same time, going to the exact same place, and his ferry ticket put him in the exact same row as we were on the boat. I had no idea he was even travelling, which made it even crazier. The world seemed to shrink to the size of a dime at that point.

Santorini is at the foremost of my memories of my European excursion. The friends we made, the people we met, the experiences we experienced all were top notch in this little island in the Aegean. Strange how such a tiny island could produce so many contrasts - a black sand beach, a red sand beach, a normal sand beach? I was just as surprised when I first learned.

When in Santorini I recommend a gyro at Grandma's Restaurant in Perissa Beach, a dinner on a rooftop in Thira, a sunset in Oia, making friends with the locals, and a whole lot of kicking back and enjoying the atmosphere.
