Ireland and the Guinness question

Written on: Monday September 15th, 2008

A journal entry from: Off travelln', back later..

So... exactly when is TOO early to have a Guinness? previous logic says midday, but I might just have to reappraise that...

Arrived in Dublin this afternoon and am loving it - good mix of pretty much everything. Stopped in for my first pint of 'real' Guinness (I was only going to have one) and emerged hours later. Off to see an Oscar Wilde play this evening at the Abbey Theatre. And... most importantly... I've finished up with work for a solid 4 weeks!

Cheers!

Adam

Hey I love the pictures of the Globe - I'm jealous. It's a nice touch getting yourself in the picture each time

Hey that map is very very good- I remember walking around the Globe exactly as the map shows you - unbelievable - they were still building it then and I still have yet to see a play there and you just saw 2 - they must be putting on the unusual and less popular plays which makes it interesting.

cellar-temperature served Guiness with big cremay head does feel nutritios (and it is an instant mood brightener) but the fact is that Guiness has less calories than the same volume of Coca-Cola.In Limburg there was experiment done with serving long-calorie low-alcohol beer to kids in elementary school cafeteria, to make them swich from sugary sodas - to more healthy beer. 9 out of 10 kids went for dark lager :) I bet the afternoon clasess were more tolerable too.
