Grand Forks to Christina Lake

Written on: Friday July 25th, 2008

A journal entry from: Fishes and Bicycles

Another easy <50km day with a mid day break to fish, this time the Kettle River. What a beautiful but seemingly fishless stretch of stream. We are certainly not the most skilled fisher-people, but we love to get our feet wet and the quantity or size of the catch matters little to us.

We had lunch at a nice little joint in "downtown" Christina Lake, called "Jimmy Beans". Then, we met up with my dad at the Provincial Park and immediately jumped in the lake to cool off. The heat has definitely been the biggest challenge for me through the Okanagan/Boundary. My Dad is home from Russia (where he works) for the summer and as always it's great to see him.
